IT16898: PUREAPPLICATION SYSTEM: CWZIP6248E THE COMPUTE NODE HAS BEEN QUIESCED BECAUSE IT IS MISSING ALL OF ITS VIRTUAL I/O SERVERS

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• CWZIP6248E The compute node [serial_number] has been  quiesced
  because it is missing all of its Virtual I/O servers (VIOS)
  
  The compute node quiesced because of a temporary communication
  outage with the Hardware Management Console (HMC). There is no
  problem with the VIOS. Here is the error:

  In the compute node job next query, the connection was fine and
  the compute node was restored:

   to available after being automatically quiesced due to

  PureApplication should not quiesce the compute node when this
  error occurs. TSA monitors the HMC, if there is a real problem
  with the HMC, TSA will handle the correction.
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• Code has been added to avoid quiescing the compute
  node if we can not retrieve VIOS information due to a
  temporary HMC connection problem.
  

Problem conclusion

• A code fix is being provided in PureApplication System and
  BlueMix Local System version 2.2.3.0.
