IBM Spectrum Protect Server V8.1 Fix Pack 1 (V8.1.1) Downloads
APAR status
Closed as program error.
Error description
A zero length file that doesn't have any meta data (like ACLs or EAs) cannot be (pre)migrated by Space Management client due to the error reported: "ANS1305E The TSM server has no data for the object". GPFS policy (pre)migration and "dsmmigrate -p" report the same error. This issue mostly affects Space Management environments where GPFS policy driven migration or GPFS Scale Out Backup and Restore (SOBAR) features are used. Tivoli Storage Manager Versions Affected: Tivoli Storage Manager Server: 6.x and 7.x on supported platforms Initial Impact: Medium Additional Keywords: TSM IBM Spectrum Protect policy GPFS Scale
Local fix
Add a rule to GPFS policy for (pre)migration: RULE 'exclude empty files' EXCLUDE WHERE FILE_SIZE=0 or if "using dsmmigrate -p", identify all zero byte files and create exclude statements to exclude them from being processed.
