IT15457: DIFFICULTY IN COMMUNICATING WITH NFS SERVER MAY CAUSE HIGHER SUSTAINED CPU USAGE

Error description

  • NFS tasks when failing to communicate to NFS or some other
    failure on the NFS server can cause higher sustained CPU.  The
    'file count' on the NFS sidecar can also increase dramatically
    which will correlate with the higher CPU.
    

Local fix

  • The nfs-client in the default domain can be disabled and then
    re-enabled to resolve the issue.

  • Affected is the use of NFS.
    
    NFS tasks can have a higher than expected CPU usage and file
    count in "show load" when having difficulty communicating with
    an NFS server.
