Error description

  • IBM Spectrum Control displays more Fibre-Channel ports than what
    physically exist on a monitored San Volue Controller
    DETAIL OF PROBLEM:
    Spectrum Control displays ports that do not exist for monitored
    SVC/Storwize V7000 devices.  For example a monitored device
    known to have twelve fibre channel ports configured, shows
    twenty four in the Spectrum Control GUI and in Cognos reports.
    This port data is collected and stored correctly for the
    devices; the queries used to display port information contained
    incorrect filtering criteria.
    RECREATE STEPS:
    Run probes against SVC/Storwize V7000 devices from Spectrum
    Control and observe more ports displayed than what exist.

Problem conclusion

  • The problem has been fixed. The reports will show  the correct
    ports
    The fix for this APAR is targeted for the following maintenance
