Error description

  • The DBCB control block used to hold the status of the logger
process is being over written by another thread mid process when
the system is under heavy load. This causes the log to become
corrupt leading to BAD_LOG FDCs.

processors.

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
The DBCB control block used to hold the status of the logger
process could be overwritten by another thread mid process when
the system is under heavy load. This caused the log to become
corrupt leading to BAD_LOG FDCs.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • Memory fences have been added to the code to ensure that the
communication between the different processes are performed in a
deterministic manner.
