APAR status

• Closed as Permanent restriction.

Error description

• Path summary panel shows stale number of failing paths for some
  DS8K boxes when the panel was first invoked (due to refresh from
   cache/Derby), but seconds later changed to correct status when
  a refresh from hardware occurs:

  When user brings up the Path panel, it should display the
  correct path status or showing a timestamp indicating the status
  might be stale. This leads to these potential APAR changes:
  - Put into the TPC-R doc that data first displayed might be
  stale and user has to wait xx seconds for the display to refresh
  (not a good option)
  - Put a second timestamp showing the last time the path status
  was refreshed from hardware (better option)
  - Do not display path status until hardware refresh is
  completed, so there is no stale information shown (best option)
  

Local fix

• Wait for xx seconds for the hardware refresh to occur, then it
  would show the correct path status.

Problem conclusion

• There is no change for this APAR as it work as designed.  Th
  TPC-R 5.2.8 Path summary panel shows stale number of failing
  paths for some DS8K boxes when the panel was first invoked, but
  seconds later changed to correct status. First time we display
  this status we display it according to our database and then
  query the subsystem for status. The second time, after a GUI
  refresh we display the correct data.
