APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • In PureApplication System version 2.1.2.0 code was added to
prevent users from importing fixes that needed to be added to
the Installation Manager Repository into the emergency fix
catalog.

This inadvertently prevents some valid fixes from being imported
to the catalog for virtual system classic patterns.

The error is:
"Uploaded file contains repository.xml file. Add this to IBM
Installation Manager Repository."

Local fix

  • The workaround is to add an empty service.xml file into the ZIP
file and then upload it to the catalog.

Problem summary

  • The import code was preventing a fix that contained a
repository.xml file, without a service.xml file, from being
imported into the catalog.

Problem conclusion

  • A code fix is being provided in PureApplication System
version 2.2.0.0.
