IT13994: SMX_CONNECT FAILURE DURING BOUNCE IN HDR ENVIRONMENT FOLLOWED BY A MISLEADING ERROR ABOUT ROLLING UPGRADE VERSION MISMATCH

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• During system reboot or engine bounce of both HDR pair (Primary
  and Secondary) one can encounter sms_connect failure resulting
  in Primary server being blocked and must be bounced before a new
  restore from a backup is to work to re-establish HDR.  This is
  only reproduced if INFORMIXCONTIME is set to 1 and
  INFORMIXCONRETRY set to 0.
  This does not reproduce in 12.10.FC3 and was observed after
  upgrade to 12.10.FC5.
