APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Hitachi VSP G1000 probe failed with error:
  HWN021503E A device server operation cannot be completed. Check
  the log files and try the operation again.
  (see in the probe job log)
  
  The probe failed due to the new provider Hitachi Device Manager
  v8.1 used to manage the storage subsystems.
  
  All TPC versions are affected using Hitachi Device Manager
  v8.1 to manage Hitachi storage subsystems.

Problem conclusion

• While this is not an APAR to add support for Hitachi Device
  Manager v8.1, it will get the probe running for this version.
  The fix for this APAR is targeted for the following maintenance
  package:

  Fixed in IBM Spectrum Control 5.2.10.
