APAR status

Error description

  • After upgrading the PureApplication System from version 2.0.0.1
to 2.1.0.0 interim fix 1, new deployments of the DataPower
virtual appliance fail. It is listed as "Unavailable".

No other errors or information are displayed in
the user interface.

The deployment log files may contain:
CWZIP2018E The group deploy operation failed because at least
one member failed

Local fix

  • Delete the existing DataPower appliance virtual image and import
it to the system again.

Problem summary

  • There was a problem in the virtual appliance vmdk file that was
specifying an invalid value of "IDE" for the device type. In
previous versions of PureApplication System this value was
ignored. A change in version PureApplication System 2.1.0.0
changed that behavior.

Problem conclusion

  • A code fix has been provided in PureApplication System version
2.1.0.1.
