APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • An extended network outage between a deployed virtual machine
(VM) and the PureSystems Manager lead to the VM status to be set
to the "Error" state.

This status should recover after the network outage has been
resolved.

Local fix

  • User can reboot the VirtualMachine in question manually to
workaround this case.
Additionally, check deployment.json file, if "desired" is
"ERROR", need to update it to "RUNNING".

Problem summary

  • The deployment watcher agent logic needed to be improved
to catch the scenario where this virtual machine status is
recoverable.

Problem conclusion

  • A code fix is being provided in PureApplication System version
2.2.0.0.
