Error description

  • User cannot drill down into any file system after successfully
    load the backup of a Linux VM using the File Restore GUI. The
    File Restore GUI reports the following error in that case:
    
    An error occurred while retrieving the directory information.
    If the problem persists, contact your administrator.

Problem conclusion

  • The proposed code insures that a directory drill down is always
    possible even if the order of the attached devices is wrong.
    The code avoids that we assign the "/" root fs to the wrong
    volume. If it detects that situation the "/" is assigned to the
    correct volume so that /ets/passwd
    can be found for directory drill down and then it stops further
    original mount point detection.
    At the end everything works like expected only some of the
    volumes do not show the original mount point in the FR GUI but
    VolumeX instead.
