APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• A timing window exists where if the CANCEL PROCESS command is
  issued between tape mounts, the Tivoli Storage Manager can crash
  due to a NULL pointer being returned.
  
  This condition can be encountered when any process is being
  cancelled that used tape and is not limited to cancelling
  processes that are
  currently waiting on tape mounts.
  
  Tivoli Storage Manager Versions Affected:
  All 6.3 and 7.1 on all platforms
  
  Diagnostics:
  Review of the Activity Log should show the CANCEL PROCESS
  command being issued during a time period when processes that
  mount tapes, such as migration, reclamation, etc. are active.
  
  The process with tape activity in the Activity Log should have
  just finished with a volume right before the cancel happened.
  
  If the messages were not flushed to the Acivity Log before the
  crash, the following callstack will be seen when the dump file
  is analyzed:
