Error description
Content Manager On Demand (CMOD) solution with Tivoli Storage Manager/Spectrum Protect server backend using Centera storage pool receives 'ANR2547E A Centera device (6) reported error "Clip CDF is not found in the pool,FP_CLIP_NOT_FOUND_ERR" during command ClipOpen' error message. However the client/API does not get back the appropriate abort and/or endTxn return codes that indicate a data not found situation has occurred. In the reporting customer's case this further results in the CMOD arssockd daemon crashing. The TSM server abort code and/or endTxn processing in this case needs to properly return an error (non-zero) failure indication. Server tracing shows us passing back an abort with reason code 9. Client tracing shows the receipt of this abort and reason code but then appears to end the transaction with zero abort code. The client trace entries are below and also show the 121 exit code (DSM_RC_FINISHED) with 0 numBytes returned. 09/15/2015 21:41:04.471 [000310] [1744828160] : session.cpp (1714): Recv Verb: 09/15/2015 21:41:04.471 [000310] [1744828160] : session.cpp (1715): Length: 13 Code: 00000051 Type: <- EndObjData 09/15/2015 21:41:04.471 [000310] [1744828160] : dsmget.cpp (2129): Contents of verb (0x51) EndObjData, length: 13: versIdHi : 0 versIdLo : 228523 abortReasonCode : 0x9 09/15/2015 21:41:04.471 [000310] [1744828160] : dsmget.cpp (2900): EndObjData: getInfoP->actSize 0, getInfoP->curPos 0, numBytes 0 09/15/2015 21:41:04.471 [000310] [1744828160] : dsmget.cpp (3106): Server aborted sub-transaction.
