APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• User had deployed new architecture virtual system patterns, and
  then upgraded the system from PureApplication System version
  2.0.0.1 interim fix 4 to interim fix 5. They also installed
  the new Foundation and Web Applications pattern type updates.
  
  Then they attempted to update the virtual system pattern
  instances to the new pattern types. Not all the nodes in the
  pattern were able to complete the process.
  
  The IBM HTTP Server node failed to update with the following
  errors:

Local fix

Problem summary

• During an upgrade of virtual machines (VM) in a virtual system
  pattern the updates will be installed and the VMs restarted in
  an unpredictable order. Retry logic has been added for
  communication between dependent roles that may be restarting.
  

Problem conclusion

• A code fix is being provided with PureApplication System
  version 2.0.0.1 interim fix 5 in the Foundation pattern
  type version 2.1.0.6.
