APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • PureApplication: Virtual System Instance goes into an 'Error'
state after a restart. Metadata used to track the virtual
system virtual machine states contained an error checking the
current state of the virtual system.

Local fix

  • For the existing deployment, where the agents on some virtual
machines are not started, add the missing quotation marks.


Replace the following string in the /etc/virtualimage.properties
file:
GROUP_FILTER=(|(objectclass=groupOfNames)(objectclass=groupOfUni
queNames))
with
GROUP_FILTER="(|(objectclass=groupOfNames)(objectclass=groupOfUn
iqueNames))"
and then reboot the virtual machine.

Problem summary

  • Code handling the virtual system deployment metadata was
mishandling property parsing.

Problem conclusion

  • A code fix is being provided in PureApplication System
version 2.1.2.0 in the Foundation Pattern Type version
2.1.5.0.
