APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • An error :
"CWZKS6417E: xxxxxxx is missing plug-in chefclient:1.0.1.0
with signature [signature_id]"
occurs when trying to deploy a pattern with the chef client
from one system to another in a multi-system PureApplication
System environment.

This happens when one of the systems has more then one chef rpm
uploaded.

Local fix

  • 1. DELETE the old rpm that is not needed
/storehouse/admin/plugins/chefclient/1.0.1.0/artifacts/files/che
f-xxxxxx.rpm


On both racks:
2. GET /resources/cacheInvalidator

Then retry the deployment.

Problem summary

  • The problem was due to the fact that pattern updates where
the customer updated the chef RPM, did not delete the original
RPM. This caused signature discrepancies in the multi-system
configuration.

Problem conclusion

  • A code fix for this issue is being added in
PureApplication System version 2.1.2.0.
