APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • On systems with large amount of memory and/or relatively slow
    storage the
    TSM server version 7.1.x may take a long time to start.
    
    This is because the TSM server version 7.1.x activates the
    database four times
    compared to two times in version 6.x. In environments where
    database
    activation takes a long time the start up duration can be
    excessive.
    
    The number of database activations should be kept to a minimum.
    

Local fix

  • Address storage latency issues to minimize the start up duration
