APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When configuring a storage provisioning operation, TPC
  incorrectly selects a second host (in addition to the
  intended/customer-selected host).  This second host cannot be
  removed from the GUI panel.
  Proceeding with the provisioning task (with the two SRA hosts
  selected), the job will fail and prompt with the following
  message in a GUI pop-up:
  Storage Cannot be provisioned from capacity pool <capacity pool
  name> using service class <service class name> for the following
  reason:
  HWNLM0715E There are no common fabrics that have the minimum
  number of required paths between the selected servers and the
  managed storage systems.
  There is only the option to close the error dialog box.
  TPC should not select a second host beyond what was selected by
  the user.  When this happens the job will fail.
  RECREATE STEPS:
  Configure a storage provisioning task in TPC 5.2.5.1.  Observe
  that a second host is selected (by TPC, not by the user) and
  then observe the task fail.

Problem conclusion

• The reason behind the inconsistent data (0 and null values) was
  not identified.  However, the query used for provisioning was
  modified to be more selective.  The fix for this APAR is
  targeted for the following maintenance package:
