Error description

  • Warning message ANS3108W occurs when using the Data Protection
    for VMware GUI to mount a backup.
    
    Customer/L2 Diagnostics :
    
    While mount operation vRDM disk are excluded as it incorrectly
    mark vRDM disks not backed up, when creating mount points.
    
    WARNING ANS3108W The disk with lable='Hard Disk X'is not mounted
    because it was excluded during backup( Reason: 'Unknown')
    
    
    Tivoli Storage Manager Versions Affected:
    
    Tivoli Storage Manager for Virtual Environments - Data
    Protection for VMware 7.1.1 or higher
    

Local fix

  • Use Recovery Agent to manually mount the vRDM disk as iSCSI
    target.
