IT07746: HTTP RESPONSE 400 WILL BE RETURNED ON SOAP 1.1 REQUEST FAULTS INSTEAD OF HTTP 500

Fix packs for DataPower Gateway version 7.1

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Using SOAP 1.1, an HTTP 400 Status code is returned instead of
  the expected HTTP Status code 500.
  

Local fix

• Set var://service/rewrite-errors to false to change the
  behavior of the Multi-Protocol Gateway as needed.
  

Problem summary

• Affected is MPGW service SOAP processing.
  
  When the option to 'rewrite errors' is enabled, if an error
  occurs, the service will always respond with a HTTP response
  code of 400 even if the original HTTP request was SOAP 1.1.
  According to the SOAP specifications the response code should be
  500 for SOAP 1.1.
  

Problem conclusion

• Fix is available in 6.0.0.15, 6.0.1.11, 7.0.0.8 and 7.1.0.5.
