APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • In a system down situation with "Checkpoint Record not Found in
    Logical Log.", after a rollback failure with
    "logerr('logreadlen')" it turned out the checkpoint position
    occurred twice in same log - and first one was not a checkpoint.
    
    Looking closer at this revealed two log. logs with tremendous
    sizes (> 1048575 = 0xfffff pages, which is max. addressable page
    within a log. log):

    For at least the second one (#71) we're seeing this in
    online.log:
    
    02/28/15 12:32:54  Logical Recovery has reached the transaction
    cleanup phase.
    02/28/15 12:35:14  Dynamically added log file 71 to DBspace 6
    02/28/15 12:35:14  Checkpoint Completed:  duration was 0
    seconds.
