Error description
TPC is generating alerts upon completion of DS8K probe jobs reporting an extremely high (and inaccurate) shortfall percentage value. Alert code is ALR4545E. In an observed case, the user had email alerts configured in TPC. Sample email displaying this problem: Email sent from TPC Server Subject: Alert: ID=389989 Pool Shortfall Too High Alert tpcadmin.Pool Shortfall Too High has been triggered. The shortfall percentage is too high for pool <pool_name> on storage system DS8000-2107-75xxxx-IBM. The measured value 1131 % violates the critical boundary of 99 %. The alert message is logged in <tpc_install_dir>\device\log\traceTPCDeviceServer.log.trace which correlates to the alert displayed in the TPC GUI: 2014-08-10 21:04:51.521-0400 Entry, parm 1 = ComputerID : 1001 ResourceID :8337 ResourceType :209 MessageID : messageID Message :ALR4545E: The shortfall percentage is too high for pool <pool_name> on storage system DS8000-2107-75xxxxx-IBM.
