APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• InTivoli Storage Manager Client ?backup vm? command fails with
  the following errors:
  
  ANS4151E Failure mounting Virtual Machine 'machine name'. RC=-1
  ANS4150E Incremental backup of Virtual Machine 'machine name'
  failed with RC -1
  
  Moreover in the dsmerror.log will be logged:
  
  ANS9365E VMware vStorage API error.
     TSM function name : VixMntapi_MountVolume
     TSM file          : vmvddksdk.cpp (1692)
     API return code   : 24307
     API error message : Driver not found
  
  ANS9375E VMware vStorage virtual storage driver service is not
  running or could not be found.
  
  ANS9365E VMware vStorage API error.
     TSM function name : VixMntapi_DismountVolume
     TSM file          : vmvddksdk.cpp (1728)
     API return code   : 24304
     API error message : The specified volume is not mounted
  
  In addition the following error is returned  when trying to
  start the following service:
  
  C:\> net start vstor2-mntapi10-shared
  System error 2001 has occurred.
  
  The specified driver is invalid.
  
  Note:
  The issue occurs only during FILE level vm backup and only on
  32-bit systems.
  
  
  Customer/L2 Diagnostics:
  The problem has been identified on the fact that a wrong version
  of  vstor2-mntapi10-shared.sys has been included in the Tivoli
  Storage Manager package at 32 bit.

• Contact IBM support for the correct version of the
  vstor2-mntapi10-shared.sys file, and for instructions
  on how to install it.

Temporary fix

• Tivoli Storage Manager Client on Windows 6.3.2.4
  Note: Until a Data Protection for VMware packaged fix of a
  fixing Tivoli Storage Manager Client level is available, Data
  Protection for VMware customers can install an use a fixed level
  of the the Tivoli Storage Manager Client in their environment.
