Error description

  • The 7.1 Windows Backup-Archive client will crash during backup
    if an incompatible Windows HSM client is installed on the
    system.  Note that HSM doesn't have to be configured and in use,
    just having the Windows HSM client installed is adequate to
    experience the crash.
    The Tivoli Storage Manager V7.1 Windows Backup-Archive client
    needs to be at the same version, release, and fix pack level (or
    higher fix pack level) as the HSM for Windows client.

Local fix

  • Uninstall the Windows HSM client if it is not in use, install a
    compatible level of the Windows HSM client if HSM is in use.

Problem conclusion
