Error description

  • When performing a mount using the TSM for VE GUI interface, the
    following errors may be experienced:
    ERROR ANS3112E Windows Virtual Disk Service is not able to
    detect all new devices.
    ERROR ANS3101E The mount operation for virtual machine
    'tsmtestvm1.tsmtest.local' failed with rc = 6807
    ERROR ANS3174E (RC6841) The VM mount failed.
    The Recovery Agent log will show:
    AFS::TSM_ReadFile: Error on DSM_GetData 9: ANS1309I (RC9)    The
    requested data is offline.
    Currently, the Vmstoragetype option is documented under "Tivoli
    Storage Manager 7.1.1"->"Clients"->"Backup-archive client
    options and commands"->"Processing options"->"Client options
    reference"->"Vmstoragetype"

    This option also needs to be documented in the Data Protection
    for VMware User's Guide under the section pertaining to mounting

Local fix

  • Set 'VMSTORAGEType tape' in the option file of Windows Mount
    Proxy node.
