APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• It is possible for a backup of a VM to fail with the following
  message.
  
  ANS9365E VMware vStorage API error for virtual machine
  'VM_NAME'.
     TSM function name : StartProgramInGuest
     TSM file          : vmvisdk.cpp (2116)
     API return code   : 12
     API error message : SOAP 1.1 fault: "":ServerFaultCode[no
  subcode]
  "fault.SystemError.summary"
  Detail:
  
  This is due to Tivoli Storage Manager verifying the existence of
  the TSM directory in the Temp folder.  For example if the
  account "admin" is running the backup, the temp folder would be
  as follows.
  
  C:\Users\admin\AppData\Local\Temp\TSM
  
  If the folder does not exist, VMware returns the
  "fault.SystemError.summary" with a generic return code causing
  the error
  
  Tivoli Storage Manager Versions Affected: 6.4.0.0 7.1.0.0
  
  Customer/L2 Diagnostics:  Verify that the following error is
  seen in the datamover error log.
  
  ANS9365E VMware vStorage API error for virtual machine
  'VM_NAME'.

Local fix

• Manually creating the directory will allow the backup to
  proceed.  If the account "admin" is being used to run the
  backup, the following folders should be created.
  
  C:\Users\admin\AppData\Local\Temp\TSM
  C:\Users\admin\AppData\Local\Temp\TSM\manifest
