Error description

  • With Tivoli Storage Manager client v7.1.1, a replicated node
    incorrectly creates a folder called "C:\Program" containing
    files tsmnrtable.DB and tsmnrtble.DB.LOCK.
    
    The folder is created only when opening the client's Graphical
    User Interface (GUI) and clicking in the restore tab on image
    function in the left side of the GUI.
    
    Leaving a folder called "C:\Program" on Windows system will
    cause at next reboot a security popup message about a File Name
    Warning.
    
    
    Customer/L2 Diagnostics:
    
    It has been identified that this is an incorrect behavior of the
    Tivoli Storage Manager v7.1 client on Windows platform related
    to the new function "Automated client failover"
    
    Tivoli Storage Manager Versions Affected: All Tivoli Storage
    Manager Client 7.1 on Windows Platforms.
    
    Initial Impact: low

Local fix

  • - Delete the "C:\Program" folder and its content
    - Explicitly write the option NRTABLEPATH in dsm.opt and set it
    to an existing directory or to the default "C:\Program
    Files\Tivoli\TSM\baclient\"
