APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• if a file exists on the application disk called 'program' this
  can cause failures because parsing of C:\Program Files will be
  misdirected to this file causing errors.
  

Local fix

• remove the 'program' file if not needed, or enclose references
  to paths including 'program files' in double quotes.

  * server is not up and running.                                *
  * Manually trying to start the data server Windows service     *
  * fails with:                                                  *
  * Windows could not start the IBM Tivoli Storage Productivity  *
  * Center - Data Server service Error: 193: 0xc1                *

  * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
  * Apply fix maintenance when available.                        *

Problem conclusion

• This case is now handled so that it will not fail.  The fix for
  this APAR is targeted for the following maintenance package:
  
  | refresh pack | 5.2-TIV-TPC-RP0006 - target June 2015
  
  The target dates for future fix packs do not represent a formal
  commitment by IBM. The dates are subject to change without
  notice.
  

Temporary fix

• Delete/rename the file/folder named Program that exists under
  <drive_letter>:. e.g. C:\Program when TPC is installed under
  C:\Program Files\IBM\TPC.
