APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • The probes are no longer running, but cannot be restarted with
    the "start probe" option. They are probably stuck until the next
     schedule probe is started.

Problem summary

    * device server while it was running probes.                   *

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    * Apply fix maintenance when available.  If this occurs, stop  *
    * and restart both device and data servers to recover from a   *
    * hang condition.                                              *

Problem conclusion

  • If something unexpected, like a hang, occurs, restarting both
    the TPC data and device servers should allow these probes to
    move from running state to failed and for new probes to start.
    
    The fix for this APAR is targeted for the following maintenance
    package:
