IT04545: STATUS MONITOR ENTRY REMAINS FOR A DELETED SERVER OBJECT

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• The Tivoli Storage Manager Server status monitor collects data
  about server objects such as devices, nodes, policies, and
  storage pools.
  The problem is when a server object is deleted from the server
  the
  status monitor data about it is not getting deleted from the
  status monitor DB table.  QUERY MONITORSTATUS output
  continues to display information about the deleted object.
  
  For example when storage pool called STPOOL_NAME_DELETED
  has been removed in the past:
  
  Server Name: SERVER1
  Activity Date: 03/04/2014 16:27:13
  Activity Name: STORAGE POOL UTILIZATION (%)
  Element Name: STGPOOL_NAME_DELETED
  Element Numeric Value: 93
  Element String Value:
  Element State: ERROR
  
  Note: Activity date of 4th March when stgpool was removed, is
  approx 6 months in the past considering
  query monitorstatus was run on 09/02/2014 (2nd September).
  
  
  This does not affect the Operation Center.  The status monitor
  does not report data to the Operation Center
  for server objects that no longer exists on the server.

  All TSM Supported platforms.
  
  Tivoli Storage Manager Versions Affected:
  Tivoli Storage Manager Server versions 6.3 and 7.1
  

Local fix

• None. You can ignore the objects in the QUERY MONITORSTATUS
  output
  for those objects that no longer exist on the TSM server.
  It is not used by the Operation Center.
