Error description

  • Problem Description:
    Sterling B2B Integrator retry function in the Connect:Direct
    CopyTO service fails because the document already exists.
    
    Scenario:
    1. Sterling B2B Integrator sends a file using the Connect:
    Direct CopyTo service.
    2. The file is partially uploaded and a network failure occurs.
    3. Sterling B2B Integrator tries to resend but it fails
    because the file exists. (Error: Disp=new file exist Open
    failed RC-80)
    
    Disposition is set to New for both Sterling B2b Integrator and
    Connect:Direct.
    

Local fix

  • STRRTC - 440376

    Circumvention:
    Change document storage to file system instead of repository.
    

Problem summary

    Problem Description:
    The Sterling Connect:Direct CopyTo service fails to copy a file
    to a remote CD node
    (with DISP=NEW) during a restart after the session was lost.
    The remote CD node prevents the second attempt because the file
    now exists.
    
    Platforms affected:
    All
    

Problem conclusion

  • Resolution Summary:
    The "restart" flag is now correctly specified to
    remote CD node to signal that DISP=NEW parameter should be
    ignored during the restart so the (incomplete) file can be
    successfully (re)written.
