IT03850: THE TPC FABRIC PROBE FOR CISCO SWITCHES MAY FAIL WHEN USING SNMP AGENTS.

APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • The Discovery and probes with CIMOM Agent only (via DCNM) is
    successful and Performance Monitors are working for all CISCO
    switches.
    But when Out-Of-Band Discovery (via SNMP) is defined for the
    same CISCO switches, the discovery and probes fail and the
    following errors can be found in the traceTPCDeviceServer.log:

Local fix

Problem summary

Problem conclusion

  • A default value of "00" is added when the necessary information
    is not retrieved. so the Exception is not thrown in these cases.
    The fix for this APAR is targeted for the following maintenance
    package:
