IT03776: NON-ENGLISH CHARACTERS ARE CORRUPTED IN WMQ FIX PACK 7.1.0.5 INSTALLATION DIALOGS

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When installing WebSphere MQ Fix Pack 7.1.0.5 in non-English
  language, the characters in the dialogs are corrupted.
  The installation is successful if the corrupted characters are
  ignored and the correct button presses are made.
  

Local fix

• The installation can be continued by ignoring the corrupted
  characters. Or, installing the Fix Pack in English.

  USERS AFFECTED:
  All users wishing to install fix pack 7.1.0.5 who wish to
  install via non-English dialog text.

  PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
  Due to a mistake in processing during the fixpack release cycle
  for 7.1.0.5, the native language resource files were provided in
  an invalid format for non-English languages. Because of this
  mistake, corrupted characters may appear in dialog boxes for the
  Windows installation of the fix pack files.
  
  The actual application of the fix pack will still work in the
  native language.
  

Problem conclusion

• During the next fixpack release cycle, we will ensure that the
  localised files for non-English languages are in the correct
  format for the Windows fix pack files installation dialogs.
