Error description

• The Tivoli Storage Manager server and storage agent do not check
  the return code from the close device operation. Due to problems
  in tape drive firmware, the close function may fail not to clean
  up the reservation.
  
  
  Customer/L2 Diagnostics:
  On the server can be seen the following error in the actlog:
  
    ANR8311E An I/O error occurred while accessing drive xxx for
    PREEMPTABORT operation, errno = 16, rc = 1
  
  Tivoli Storage Manager Versions Affected:
  Tivoli Storage Manager server 6.3 and 7.1 on all platforms using
  tape drives.
