Error description

  • WinXP PCOM V5.8 move to Win7 32bit PCOMM V6.0.9 HOST IBM
    SYSTEM-Z - SNA3270 LLC2 session PCOMM V6.0.9
    
    there are 4 session and one of them has special session
    that Host application does Vary OFF/ON by every 1 minutes
    for keeping a session alive.
    

Local fix

Problem summary

  • A 3270 Emulator session is established over SNA connectivity.
    When an user operates on 3270 session, PCSCM crashes reporting
    the following error:
    "PCSCM is not running. Press OK to terminate PCOMM  session. "
    

Problem conclusion

  • Problem was due to Null pointer exception in the IBM Personal
    Communications SNA code. Code changes have been made in
    PCSRUINW.DLL, PCSRUISN.DLL and PCSRUISS.DLL to rectify the
    problem.
    Fix scheduled for PCOM 6.0.11 Refresh Pack
