IT01056: FLASHCOPY MANAGER FOR ORACLE REPORTS FMM4008E DURING RESTORE

Error description

• During a Flashcopy Manager for Oracle restore the following is
  reported:
  FMM4008E File
  '/oracle/admin/dbtest/diag/rdbms/dbtest/DBTEST/trace/cntrl_copy_
  B0JTHB9CQ' cannot be opened. Reason:  errno(13)  The file access
  permissions do not allow the specified action.
  
  The cause for this error is the group write permission is not
  set on the following directory paths:
   /oracle/admin/dbtest/diag/rdbms/dbtest/DBTEST/trace
   $ORACLE_HOME/dbs
  
  The first directory is user defined in the init<SID>.ora with
  the user_dump_dest parameter.  A directory specified in that
  parameter needs group write permission.
  The second directory is owned by Oracle, and FlashCopy Manager
  should not need group write permissions for it.
  
  Versions Affected: IBM Tivoli Storage FlashCopy Manager for
  Oracle 4.1

Local fix

• Set the group write permission for the directory listed in the
  FMM4008E and for the Oracle '$ORACLE_HOME/dbs' directory or
  delete the file mentioned within FMM4008E and retry the restore
  operation.
  

Problem summary

  All users of IBM Tivoli Storage FlashCopy Manager for Oracle
  2.1, 2.2, 3.1, 3.2 and 4.1 who perform restore operation
  PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
    See ERROR DESCRIPTION
  RECOMMENDATION:
  Apply fixing level when available. This fix is currently
  projected to be available in 4.1.1
     Note: This is subject to change at the discretion of IBM.
  

Problem conclusion

• IBM Tivoli Storage FlashCopy Manager for Oracle 4.1 will be
  updated  to avoid any permission changes on external
  directories.
