APAR status

Error description

• The user observed slow response behaviour of the DataPower
  WebGUI while accessing the same over a long distance high
  latency remote connection. The user saw repeated loading of
  static resources like e.g. JS, CSS, PNG or GIF resources which
  did not get cached during the web browser session although
  being unchanged.
  

Local fix

• Intercept WebGUI traffic e.g. with a Multiprotocol Gateway and
  add a header "Expires: {timestamp = now + some hours}" in a
  non-XML response rule for static resources like JS, CSS, PNG,
  GIF to reduce repeated loading of non-changing resources.
  Passthrough all request traffic and all other response
  resources (like the dynamic content web pages).
  Ensure to refresh/clean the web browser cache after a firmware
  upgrade.
