Error description

  • user logs in to CM/iSeries backend via fed from eClient w/ fed
password contianing more than 10 chars. Then when a search is
    submitted, an exception is thrown:
An error occurred while processing your request.
    com.ibm.mm.beans.CMBException:  VI400 DKDatastoreV4.connect()
    DGL0303A: Invalid parameter [password]
DGL0303A Error - Invalid parametr: password with the CM
Connector. The connector no longer supports passwords greater
    than 10 characters.

User thereafter does not get prompted for entering the native or
backend server user ID and password. If user mapping is created,
this behaviour prevents a new user mapping from being created
for the fed user ID containing a password that has more than 10
    characters.

Local fix

Problem summary

  • In the eClient (federated to DB2 Content Manager for AS/400) the
user is not prompted for a DB2 Content Manager for AS/400 user
ID and password when the federated user ID's password is greater
than 10 characters and there is no user mapping between the
federated user ID and the DB2 Content Manager for AS/400 user ID
    .

Problem conclusion

  • In IBM DB2 Content Manager Version 8.3 Fix Pack 11, the
exception was changed from DKUsageError to DKLogonFailure when
the DB2 Content Manager for AS/400 connector user ID's password
    is greater than 10 characters.
