Error description

  • The struts, apache commons, log4.jar files need to moved from
the EAR location to the WAR level. The log4j.jar in the shared
library should be removed also. The CM log properites file
should be configured to use the Default logger instead of log4j
due to conflicts with Webi using log4J and the classes being
loaded from different class loaders. This only appears to be a
    issue on WAS 6.1.

Local fix

  • Remove the log4j.jar files in webi's WAR locations and keep the
    one in the shared library.

Problem summary

  • IBM WEBi logging does not work with WebSphere Application Server
    Version 6.1

Problem conclusion

  • This problem is now fixed in IBM Web Interface for Content
    Management Version 1.0.3.

Temporary fix
