Error description
Linux_Process_Stopped situation triggers when process status is "Idle" after APAR IJ11040. APAR IJ11040 added support for new process state in Linux - Idle. Previously processes in this state previously identified as "Not Available" since the state did not match any of the states the agent processes. After APAR IJ110140, the default situation Linux_Process_Stopped situation, which triggers when the process state is not equal to "Running" and is not equal to Sleeping, now will trigger for situations when the state is "Idle". This APAR will update the default situation to also check for process state of "Idle".
Local fix
Add the condition to the situation: Process State != Idle Note: APAR IJ11040, which shipped support for the process state Idle, was shipped as part of 6.3.0.7-TIV-ITM_LINUX-IF0002 and 6.3.0.7-TIV-ITM-SP0001. The application support for this APAR needs to be installed for "Idle" to be listed in the drop-down list.
Problem summary
Linux_Process_Stopped_2 situation triggers when process status is "Idle" after APAR IJ11040. Linux_Process_Stopped_2 situation triggers when process status is "Idle" after APAR IJ11040. APAR IJ11040 added support for new process state in Linux - Idle. Previously processes in this state previously identified as "Not Available" since the state did not match any of the states the agent handled. After APAR IJ110140, the default situation Linux_Process_Stopped_2 situation, which triggers when the process state is not equal to "Running" and is not equal to "Sleeping", now will trigger for situations when the state is "Idle". This APAR will update the default situation to also check for process state of "Idle". In order for this fix to be used, the situations need to be updated. See the Install Actions section of the Problem Conclusion for more information.
Problem conclusion
The situation Linux_Process_Stopped_2 has been updated to include the Process State != Idle (KLZ_Process.State *NE Idle). If the situation Linux_Process_stopped is running, it will continue to trigger for Idle processes as the Idle state was not added for the Linux_Process attribute group (which was superseded by KLZ_Process attribute group) in APAR IJ11040. Use the updated Linux_Process_Stopped_2 instead. Install Actions: In order for this fix to be used, the situations need to be updated. This can be done by the following - Delete the situation Linux_Process_Stopped_2 - Reload in the klz situations by using the "Add TEMS Application Support" option from the MTEMS or running the "itmcmd support" command -OR- - Edit the situation and add an additional check for Process.State != Idle (as documented under Circumvention) The fix for this APAR is contained in the following maintenance packages: | service pack | 6.3.0.7-TIV-ITM-SP0005
Temporary fix
Edit the situation and add an additional check for Process.State != Idle.
