APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • If the Display Item of the Reset/Close event contains a
    new-line character, it is removed by SOAP server before the
    request is forwarded to the Hub.
    
    Therefore, if the existing
    Open event also includes a new-line character, the event will
    not be closed because the Display Items of the Open and
    Reset/Close events will not match.
    

Local fix

  • The SOAP server has been changed to preserve any new-line
    characters that exist in the <item> tag within the XML of the
    CT_Reset request.
    

Problem summary

  • If the Display Item of the Reset/Close event contains a newline
    character, it is removed by SOAP server before the request is
    forwarded to the Hub.
    
    Therefore, if the existing Open event also includes a newline
    character, the event will not be closed because the Display
    Items of the Open and Reset/Close events will not match.
    
    
    ITM Situation Events are not closed when using the CT_Reset SOAP
    API.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The SOAP server has been changed to preserve any newline
    characters that exist in the "item" tag within the XML of the
    CT_Reset request.
    
    
    The fix for this APAR is contained in the following maintenance
    packages:
