APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Oracle PDB discovery taking longer time than usual. In the code
there was a notify() method which has been used along with
join() method.  As per Oracle Java documentation, the notify()
method is not supported with join(). I
To fix this, the notify() method should be removed and it is
observed that the performance will be improved to good extent
by doing so.

Problem summary

  • Oracle PDB discovery takes longer time than usual. This is due
to the fact that a notify() method has been used along with a
join() method in the PDB implementation.  As per Oracle Java
documentation, the notify() method is not supported with
join(). To fix this, the notify() method should be removed and
it is observed that the performance improves significantly by
doing so.
