APAR status

Error description

  • Looking at the workspace log window in the Explorer these are
the two plugins having problems:

org.eclipse.epp.mpc.core.win32
com.ibm.etools.webservice.discovery.core

Those represent the Eclipse Marketplace plugin and the other is
the 'Web Service Tools,Web service discovery API and Web
service Finder API'

In the log output you observe the following exception stack
trace for the eclipse plugin:

org.osgi.framework.BundleException: Could not resolve module:
org.eclipse.epp.mpc.core.win32 [518]
  Bundle was not resolved because of a uses contraint violation.
  org.osgi.service.resolver.ResolutionException: Uses constraint
violation. Unable to resolve resource
org.eclipse.epp.mpc.core.win32

Exception stack trace for the web services plugin:

org.osgi.framework.BundleException: Could not resolve module:
com.ibm.etools.webservice.discovery.core [924]
  Bundle was not resolved because of a uses contraint violation.
  org.osgi.service.resolver.ResolutionException: Uses constraint
violation. Unable to resolve resource
com.ibm.etools.webservice.discovery.core

Local fix

  • N/A

Problem summary

  • When starting CICS Explorer with the Liberty and Java EE SDK
installed, some included software has an implicit dependency on
Eclipse Buildship, which was not shipped with CICS Explorer.
Errors were generated in the error log when the Eclipse
Buildship software was not found.
The Eclipse error log will report errors including:
Bundle was not resolved because of a uses contraint violation.
org.osgi.service.resolver.ResolutionException: Uses constraint
violation.

Problem conclusion

  • When starting CICS Explorer with the Liberty and Java EE SDK
the Eclipse Buildship software is now included.

This fix will be made available in Version 5.5.0.4 of the CICS
Explorer.
