IJ11593: DEPRECATED LIBRARIES STILL NOT REMOVED DURING WINDOWS GSKIT UPDATE.

IBM Tivoli Monitoring 6.2.3 and 6.3.0 GSKit Update

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When applying a GSKit PSIRT patch, old files not updated or
  replaced in the patch are not removed from the installation on
  Windows.
  
  
  RECREATE INSTRUCTIONS:
  
  1) Install the OS agent from the 063000700 media.
  
  2) Generate a sorted file listing of the GSKit installation
  directories including date-time information.
  
  3) Apply GSKit patch 6.3.x-TIV-ITM-GSK-8.0.50.88.
  
  4) Generate a second sorted file listing of the GSKit
  installation directories including date-time information.
  
  5) Compare the file listings and notice that there are files in
  the listing that do not have the new timestamp.
  

Local fix

• LOCAL FIX:
  
  1) Stop all running Tivoli Monitoring components in this
  installation directory.
  
  2) Rename the GSKit installation directories.
  
  3) Apply the GSKit patch 6.3.x-TIV-ITM-GSK-8.0.50.88.
  
  4) Verify that Tivoli Monitoring components can start and stay
  running.
  
  5) Remove the renamed (old) GSKit installation directories
  leaving the current (new) directories alone.
