APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Turning on certain verbose TEMS traces exposes a defect that
    results in invalid messages being written to the RAS log. At
    the same time, the TEMS may become preoccupied generating a
    high volume of these invalid messages so that it is unable to
    perform normally.
    

Local fix

  • Turn off traces/Contact support
    

Problem summary

  • Turning on certain verbose TEMS traces exposes a defect that
    results in invalid messages being written to the RAS log.  At
    the same time, the TEMS may become preoccupied generating a high
     volume of these invalid messages so that it is unable to
    perform normally.
    
    
    The TEMS RAS log grows rapidly and appears to be corrupted and
    full of zeroes.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The code was changed to ensure the RAS traces are printed
    correctly.
    
    
    The fix for this APAR is contained in the following maintenance
