Error description
TS001121758 APAR IV78192 added auditing for tacmd GetFile/PutFile/ExecuteCommand. The problem is, if the user specifies a command string consisting of the empty string, the Hub crashes: - the CLI does not send the empty command request to the Hub. - however, it does still send a request to the Hub to audit the command. - the parameters it sends should include the command that was run. - the Hub doesn't tolerate missing parameters and ends up with a null pointer which it then attempts to use.
Local fix
Do not send tacmd executeCommand parameters with a null string argument.
Problem summary
Since ITMv630 FP7, an audit record is generated after a GetFile, PutFile or ExecuteCommand request runs. The code was not accommodating missing parameters and was using a system call that was not thread-safe the consequence of which was a possible access violation. The Hub may crash when a tacmd request runs to perform a GetFile, PutFile or ExecuteCommand request.
Problem conclusion
The code was amended to tolerate missing parameters and to guarantee that it is thread-safe. The fix for this APAR is contained in the following maintenance packages: | service pack | 6.3.0.7-TIV-ITM-SP0001
