APAR status

  • Closed as new function.

Error description

  • Optionally remove Warehouse tables when the Select Attribute
Group(s) have been removed from the Historical Collection
Configuration. Enabling this option is done by setting the
environment variable KSY_TABLE_CLEANUP=Y in the Summarization
    and Pruning Agent's $CANDLEHOME/config/sy.ini file.

Local fix

  • N/A

Problem summary

  • Add the functionality to the Summarization and Pruning Agent
such that existing Warehouse tables are optionally dropped from
the Warehouse Database if the user deletes a Historical
Collecton Configuration Collection Setting from the Tivoli
Enterprise Desktop History Collection Configuration dialog's
    list of Monitored Applications.

Enhance the Summarization and Pruning Agent such that the user
can set a configuration parameter which will
result in the Agent dropping tables which no longer associated
with Collection Settings for a Monitored Application.

Problem conclusion

  • Enable the Summarization and Pruning Agent to optionally drop
existing Warehouse tables by way of new environment variable,
KSY_TABLE_CLEANUP (see Install Actions below). If enablede,
the Agent will drop existing tables where their corresponding
Monitored Application Collection Settings are no longer present
in the Tivoli Enterprise Desktop History Collection
Configuration dialog. The tables will also be dropped if the
Attribute Group that is associated with the Collection Setting
no longer has any Summarization nor Pruning Configuration
    Controls settings.

The fix for this APAR is contained in the following maintenance
    packages:

       | service pack | 6.3.0.7-TIV-ITM-SP0001

    Install Actions:

To enable, modify the $CANDLEHOME/config/sy.ini (Linux/Unix) or
KSYENV (Windows) configuration files as follows:

    KSY_TABLE_CLEANUP=Y

    To disable set

    KSY_TABLE_CLEANUP=N

    or remove the line altogether.
