APAR status

Error description

  • WebSphere MQ (WMQ) v7.1 client running a .NET applications hangs
    when the queue manager is quiesced or the channel is stopped.
    All subsequent .NET transactions are blocked.
    No FDCs are generated.
    
    output of dspmqtrn for the queue manager shows many transactions
    in a PREPARE state.

Problem summary

    USERS AFFECTED:
    All users of WebSphere MQ .Net Client in managed mode
    
    
    Platforms affected:
    Windows

    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
    When the client/server connection channel in use by applications
    connected using the .Net managed client, is stopped or the queue
    manager shut down the connections are not terminated cleanly,
    and can cause the application to hang.
    

Problem conclusion

  • MQ .Net client code was reworked to improve locking strategy and
    recognise and handle changes in connection status correctly.
