Error description

  • During the installation of FlashCopy Manager for Unix,
InstallAnywhere generates the following file descriptor entries.

    Descriptor Entries:
    /usr/lib/objrepos:AG-_DB2,_ACSGEN:1.0.0.0::COMMITTED:I:This
component was automatically created when the developer assigned
actions to features-To select the product to be installed select
the corresponding installset. With the custom set multiple
    products can be selected.

    .
    .
    .

The installation succeeds, and FlashCopy Manager operates
normally. The problem only surfaces during AIX migration in
the NIMADM function, which fails due to the new line character
in the middle of the fileset description.

Local fix

  • This problem is cosmetic and does not impact the product's
functionality. Until a fix is available, you may choose to
Manually edit the ODM to remove the "This component was
automatically ......." entries from the ODM description.
WARNING: Manual editing of the AIX ODM should be done with
extreme caution and the ODM should be backed up before any
    manual manipulation is done.
